Tallboy or wide chest — which fits your room?

A tallboy is narrow and tall, so it holds plenty of folded clothes in a small footprint — ideal when floor space is tight. A wide chest of drawers — sometimes called a dresser — is lower and broader, giving you a surface on top for a lamp, mirror or photos, and shallower drawers that are easier to reach. If your room is narrow, go tallboy. If you want a display surface and easier access, go wide. Both come in white and oak, and a black tallboy suits a modern room and hides marks well.

How many drawers do you need?

Count what you fold. A four-drawer tallboy suits one person's everyday clothes. A five- or six-drawer chest handles a full wardrobe of folded items, or two people sharing. Deeper bottom drawers hold jumpers and denim; shallow top drawers suit socks and underwear. If you already have a wardrobe for hanging, a chest of drawers covers everything that folds.

Most take 40–60 minutes with two people. Every unit includes instructions and fixings. The drawers usually come pre-built or half-built to save time.

How do I stop a tallboy tipping?
Every tallboy includes an anti-tip anchor to fix it to the wall. Always fit it, especially in homes with children, since a tall unit with loaded top drawers can tip.

What warranty comes with a chest of drawers?
Every chest carries a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Keep your order number as proof of purchase.
