Chest of drawers vs tallboy — what's the difference?

A tallboy is tall and narrow, which is the better pick when you have wall height to spare but little floor — it fits neatly beside a wardrobe or in a slim alcove. Measure two things: the wall width for the chest itself, and the clear space in front so the drawers can pull fully out. Allow at least 60cm of clearance ahead of the chest. For a tallboy, check the finished height against any overhead shelf or sloped ceiling.
