If you're looking to grow veggies, herbs, or flowers without the hassle of a full garden build, this Corten steel raised bed is a genuinely smart way to do it. The star of the show is the material itself — weathering steel naturally forms a rust-coloured protective layer over time, which means no painting, no sealing, and very little ongoing maintenance. It's one of those things that actually looks better as it ages, giving your outdoor space a really earthy, industrial vibe that works a treat on patios, balconies, or in the backyard.
The 240cm length gives you a generous run of growing space, deep enough to keep roots happy and wide enough to plant in rows or go a bit free-form with it. The open bottom design is a nice touch too — it lets excess water drain away naturally and lets roots reach further down into the ground below, which your plants will thank you for. There are internal support brackets keeping everything solid, and the rolled edge around the rim means no nasty sharp bits to catch yourself on.
Just a heads up — it arrives with a normal metal finish, not yet rusted. The patina develops on its own with exposure to the elements, but if you're keen to speed things along, a spritz of salty water does the trick.
