DESCRIPTION
If you are looking for a dial bore gauge, you are probably a mechanic or like to work on cars. Your new bore gauge will help you to measure the inside of your engine cylinders.
Take three measurements of your cylinder with your engine bore gauge. You only need to measure as far as the piston travels. Change orientation and test again to see if the cylinder is perfectly round.
Start measuring by calibrating your cylinder bore measuring tool with your callipers. Once you have zeroed your gauge you are ready to start accurately measuring the inside of a cylinder.
You can test your cylinder with your bore gauge to see whether it is tapered, out of round, or oversized. If it isn?t right, then take it to the shop to be rebored or machined.
Rock the bore gauge back and forth in the cylinder. The lowest measurement is how wide the cylinder is. It may take a while to get the hang of it, but your bore gauge will be an invaluable tool for the future.
